I recently attended an art exhibition and met this crazy artist whose work totally inspired me. His name is James Capper and he designs and builds machinery that helps sculpters to perform their work. He is a young welder, sculpter and artist. I loved his drawings as well, which were sketches of his plans.
James is showing some of his drawings next week at the Hannah Barry Gallery, 110 New Bond Street. The exhibition runs from June 23 – August 4.
Much of his artistic inspiration comes from the late, great. American, earth moving inventor Robert Gilmour Letourneau.
Letourneau designed and built some of the worlds largest and most powerful machines used in all kinds of extreme situations, from working in quarries to oil rigs, to (unfortunately) tree crushing and logging.Check this beast out….although strangely there is something beautifully sculptural about it. I know this is a completely random blog – but I am inspired by meeting James
Yummy Mummy’s won’t be parking this beast in Primrose Hill:
Using the pinball action of my brain I then came across this random website http://www.gilbeck.net/scaleday/scaleday-morning.html which gives new meaning to the word Blogger…as it’s Blog by a logger!
Looking at this photo makes me think of all those fantastic images of things in America that you see in movies or on posters: Vending machines, massive trucks
This is a MAN blog!
